Dersin Amacı Periodontal durum ve hastalıkların klinik, radyografik çeşitli tanı yöntemleri kullanılarak nasıl teşhis edileceğini öğretmek. Tedavi planı hazırlamayı, klinik risk faktörleri ve prognozun nasıl değerlendirileceğini, antimikrobiyal kullanımı ve konak modülasyonunun anlaşılmasını, oklüzyonun değerlendirilmesi ve periodontal acil durumlarla ilgili bilgi edinilmesinin sağlamak. Faz I tedavi ile ilgili detaylı bilgi, kullanılan aletler ve kullanım prensiplerini, kemoterapötik ajanları öğretmek. Detertraj, kök düzlemesi, halitosis ve dentin hassasiyeti konularını detalı olarak öğretmek.
