Dersin Amacı Bu dersin temel amacı mikrobiyoloji alanında genel bir bilgi ve anlayış kazandırarak bakteriler başta olmak üzere, virüs, küf, maya ve parazitler hakkında bilgi edinmeyi sağlanmaktır. Bu mikroorganizmaların sınıflandırılmaları, morfolojileri, yaşama koşulları ve tanımlanmaları ile patojen veya fırsatçı mikroorganizmalara bağlı olguların anlaşılması amaçlanmaktadır. Mikroorganizmaların yol açtıkları başlıca hastalıklar ve korunma yolları hakkında fikir sahibi olunması, sepsis, antisepsi, dezenfeksiyon, sterilizasyon kavramları ve bunlara uygun olarak bilinçli davranmanın sağlanması hedeflenmektedir.
