Dersin Amacı Öğrencilerin; çocuk gelişiminin ilkelerini, gelişim dönemlerini, gelişime etki eden faktörleri, gelişim kuramlarını, gelişimin desteklenmesi ve değerlendirilmesi için gerekli yöntemleri öğrenebilmesi amaçlanmaktadır.
