Dersin Amacı Öğrencilerin; çocuk gelişimi kuramlarını, çocuk gelişimindeki yaklaşımların önemini, çocuklara hizmet veren kurum ve kuruluşları, çoklu zeka kuramını, çocukların ve ailenin desteklenmesinin önemini ve dünyada çocuk eğitimi ile ilgili yaklaşımları öğrenmeleri ve betimlemeleri amaçlanmaktadır.
